Dr. Carrie (nee McDonnell) Wood selected this remarkable property in 2009, after working for over a decade in the Paso Robles wine industry. Dr. Wood studied internationally at the University of Adelaide, South Australia and earned a Doctorate in Plant Sciences, specifically studying Viticulture under Dr. Peter R. Dry. Prior to that she completed a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Throughout the years she has experienced the exceptional climate and soil conditions that make Clare Ranch stand out as one of the best locations for growing quality wine grapes in the Paso Robles region.
